The
cost of mediation
Mediation can be tailored to suit
the means and needs of the parties and the nature
of the dispute.
Cambridge Civil Mediation’s charges vary according
to the value of the dispute and the length of the
mediation. Usually a three or four hour mediation
is appropriate in a small case and an all day mediation
in a more substantial case. Mediations can
also take two or more days if necessary or be spaced
over a period of time. Fee quotations are given
specifically for each individual dispute before any
party commits to mediation. We will design the process
for larger or more complicated cases – especially
multi-party cases – allowing more time or a
different approach.
As well as the cost of the
mediation itself, CCM’s
fees include preparation and travelling time plus
travel costs, setting up the mediation and handling
all pre-mediation arrangements; any venue and refreshment
costs are charged separately. If the parties have
solicitors, it is often possible for one side or
the other to host the mediation at their solicitors’ offices.
If not, CCM will arrange a suitable venue and pass
on the cost to the parties involved, subject to their
prior approval.
